Theology and Bible study are not everyone’s cup of tea. If we are honest, we are all still learning. It is a lifelong thing. Who can say it is complete?
God has gifted us in different ways. At best we are pooling our collective ignorance. At our worst, we attack one another rather than leaving it in the hands of God. Many great theologians differ on many subjects. Can we expect to be any different?
Thankfully all it takes to be a Christian is faith in Jesus. It does not take perfect knowledge of scripture and theology. Christianity flourished long before the printing press and high rates of literacy. The Bible is the icing on the cake of our faith. Hopefully, you will find things that build you up and make you think on this website.
God is the “know all be all” not me, the pope, theologian, or any other man. Keep that in mind as you read and think about what is said.
Science & Reality
One of the biggest challenges I have faced is the argument over creation. I want to address this immediately as it will often come up. Click here to read more….
Jesus Asked This Question
Matt 16:
“Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
They (disciples) replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Three passages set the tone for this website
John 17:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
1 Cor 12:
Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be?
Mark 9:
“Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, 40for whoever is not against us is for us.
