Are Homosexuals Born that Way?
The simple answer is no, I do not believe homosexuals are born that way. The number 1 reason I hear given in defense of this homosexuals being born that way is they did not decide one day to become gay or lesbian. Homosexuals often ask me if I chose to be straight or heterosexual. If I say no they then say they did not chose to be homosexual just like I did not chose to be straight. The problem with this line of thought is we do not choose many things on a given day or even over short periods of time.
Example: When I was young I liked vanilla ice cream only. I did not like strawberry or chocolate. Somewhere along the line I started liking chocolate but to this day I don’t care much for strawberry ice cream. I did not make a conscious decision about what flavor of ice cream I liked. However, this does not mean it was a genetic predisposition. In the area of relationships some people like blonds, others like red heads, some prefer thin and others prefer plump. Do we believe this is a genetic predisposition? Probably not.
Another argument against being born that way is it does not account for the large numbers of people who participate in bisexual life styles or other choices like becoming trans gender or cross dressers.
Last but not least is the idea of being equipped for normal sex. In rare cases people are born with two sex organs, one female and the other male. Anyone might rightfully understand gender confusion with this rare birth disorder. I am not trying to make a blanket statement for all people just the 99.9% that claim their sexual orientation is counter to the equipment they were born with.
Long ago the heterosexual male culture was geared towards more robust looking woman. At some point “thin was in” and Twiggy was the new craze. After years of woman becoming anorexic the culture has shifted slowly away from demanding women be thin. After all, who wants to deal with all the physical and emotional damage that comes with demanding women all fit a certain ideal that is unhealthy? Not me that is for sure. All this goes to show is beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What we find sexually attractive is often a very subtle and cultural thing. It happens without us even noticing it but that does not mean we are born with a sexual bias against the intended use of our genitals.
Another thing to ponder: identical twins have been known to differ with their sexual orientation.

The proposed theory: it’s hormonal which happens after birth and can be affected by exterior or psychological circumstances.
